When this matter was called up, the issue involved here is for
admission of this instant appeal which was preferred by the appellant, being
aggrieved and dissatisfied by the impugned judgment and order of conviction
dated 10.10.2023 and the related sentence dated 31.10.2023 passed by the
Court of the learned Special Judge (POCSO), Ri-Bhoi District, Nongpoh in
Special (POCSO) Case No. 19 of 2021 under Section 3(a)/4/9(m)/10 of the
POCSO Act, 2012, whereby the appellant has been convicted and made to
undergo imprisonment for a term of 25 years with fine of ₹ 1,00,000/-
(Rupees one lakh) under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, and in default thereof,
to undergo another 6(six) months of imprisonment under Section 354 IPC
(on two counts) to rigorous imprisonment for 5(five) years with fine of ₹

10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand), and in default of payment, to undergo
another 3(three) months of imprisonment and under Section 10 of the
POCSO Act (on two counts) to 7(seven) years imprisonment along with fine
of ₹ 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand), and in default of payment, to undergo
another 3(three) months of imprisonment.
Mr. N.D. Chullai, learned AAG assisted by Mr. E.R. Chyne,
learned GA appearing on behalf of the State respondent has no objection to
the admission of the appeal.
On consideration of the submission made, and on perusal of the
memo of appeal, we find that this appeal is fit to be admitted. Accordingly,
on the appeal being admitted, the Trial Court records are hereby called for.
On receipt of the said records, registry is directed to prepare the paper book.
List this matter after 3(three) weeks.
