Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2 beats Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD as Google's most searched film of 2024; Heeramandi leads the series list

Google’s annual ‘Most Searched’ list is here, and topping the movie category is none other than Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2! This 2024 blockbuster, which grossed an impressive ₹627.02 crore worldwide, outshined major releases like Kalki 2898 AD and Laapataa Ladies.
Claiming the second spot on Google’s ‘Most Searched’ list is Kalki 2898 AD, featuring an iconic lineup of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this cinematic marvel made waves globally, raking in over Rs 1,100 crore and proving its mettle at the box office.

Claiming the third spot on Google’s ‘Most Searched’ list is the 2023 release 12th Fail, led by Vikrant Massey, who dominated the awards season earlier this year. The list also highlights remarkable films like Laapataa Ladies, India’s official Oscar entry, along with Malayalam hits Manjummel Boys and Aavesham.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi emerged as the most searched show in India this year. Released on Netflix over the summer, the series created significant buzz with a star-studded cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, alongside pivotal performances by Fardeen Khan and Shekhar Suman.
Heeramandi outshined popular shows like Mirzapur, the hit South Korean series Queen of Tears, and Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 18 to become the most searched show in India this year.
