Thane: Sanjay Pandey, former Director General of Police (DGP) of Maharashtra, appeared before the Thane crime branch on Wednesday. His statement was recorded in a case where Marine Drive resident Sanjay Punamiya alleged he was told to implicate the current chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.
Pandey arrived at the crime branch Unit-5 office in an autorickshaw around 1:15pm and was there for nearly 3.5 hours. Upon entering, he said he would address the allegations against him. The FIR was filed on Aug 26, 2023.
