Saif Ali Khan is likely to be discharged today, Mumbai police to record his statement

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed at his house on January 16, as there was an attempt of burglary. As Saif got into a fight with the burglar, he was stabbed six times and a cut was close to his spine. The actor underwent a long surgery, post which is is doing fine, according to the doctors. He was rushed yo Lilavati hospital and the doctors removed a 2.5inch piece of knife from his spine. Saif has been resting at the hospital post surgery and the doctors had not commented on when he would be discharged.
However, according to reports, it is expected that the actor may be discharged today and the Mumbai police will record his statement in this matter.
Meanwhile, earlier they had taken Kareena’s statement and she had said that while he could not steal anything from their house, he was quite aggresive.
The accused has now been detained and according to the Mumbai Police, he is a Bangladeshi national. He changed his name to Bijoy Das as he enteted India illegally.
It was also found that this accused was working as housekeeping staff at Ricky’s bar in Thane. The accused, identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad from Bangladesh’s Jhalokati district, was arrested by the Mumbai police. Police say he entered Saif Ali Khan’s residence with the intention of committing theft. The case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
The police also stated that Shehzad was attempting to flee to his native village when he was caught in Thane. He was remanded to five days of police custody. However, his advocate, Sandeep Shekhane, denied the police’s claims, stating that there had been no proper investigation and that Shehzad had been living in Mumbai for over seven years.
