NEW DELHI: The political uproar has intensified following the arrest of a Bangladeshi national in the stabbing case of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
After the Mumbai police detained Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammed Rohilla Amin Fakir on Sunday morning in Thane, opposition parties, including Shiv Sena’s UBT faction held Centre responsible for not taming the menace of illegal immigrants.
UBT faction MP Sanjay Raut criticized the BJP’s inconsistent narrative, highlighting their previous allegations of ‘love jihad’ regarding the relationship between Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. He pointed out that discussions about Taimur only surfaced after the Prime Minister’s mention.
“The BJP says that attack on Saif Ali Khan is an international conspiracy. If the accused is Bangladeshi, the responsibility lies on the Centre, Home Minister Amit Shah. He should resign. A delegation should go of BJP people to meet people regarding eviction of Bangladeshis, Rohingyas,” said UBT faction MP Sanjay Raut.
” They were saying ‘love jihad’ to Saif and Kareena. Now they are talking Taimur. When PM talked Taimur, they started talking. This government has a brute majority but is not functioning well. They are in shock after victory as they won with unfair means,” Sanjay added.
Raut also criticized the government’s performance, despite having a brute majority, suggesting that their shock victory, which he implies was achieved through unfair means, has left them ineffective.
