Veteran actress Rekha’s parents are the famous actress Pushpavalli and the legendary Tamil actor-turned-political leader Gemini Ganesan. In a recent conversation, Rekha shared her thoughts about her mother, Pushpavalli, and revealed that she found heaven in her lap.
During her appearance on a recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, the ‘Baseraa’ actress shared her fitness secret. The actress stated that she is not an expert when it comes to external things, including the gym. However, when there were no fitness centres or spas, her home felt like the biggest spa to her. She credited her upbringing for the beauty she possesses.

Rekha expressed that her ultimate luxury and source of comfort is her mother’s lap, describing it as a place of peace, beauty, and serenity. She said, “If you ask me where that place is, it’s my mother’s lap.”
She shared that while it is often said that heaven lies at a mother’s feet, she personally found her own heaven in her mother’s lap, which offers unmatched peace and comfort.
Rekha further reflected on her childhood, sharing that she never overthought or made plans. Instead, she embraced everything as a divine offering, trusting that whatever happened was for the best, as God knows what is right for her.

Rekha’s mother, Pushpavalli, passed away in April 1991. She was a well-known actress in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. Pushpavalli began her career as a child artist and later appeared in films like ‘Miss Malini’ (1947), ‘Samsaram’ (1951), ‘Sansar’ (1951), and ‘Chenchu Lakshmi’ (1958). Her last film, ‘Bangaru Panjaram’, was released in 1969 in Telugu. Besides Rekha, Pushpavalli and Gemini Ganesan had another daughter named Radha.
