As Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 – The Rule continues its box office domination worldwide, attention now shifts to Ram Charan’s upcoming film Game Changer. Marking his first release after the blockbuster success of RRR, the Shankar-directed political action-thriller co-stars Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah. The much-anticipated film is set to hit theaters on January 10.

While advance booking is yet to open in India, tickets are already on sale in the United States. Given that the film is primarily a Telugu production, the trade expects it to secure a significant number of screens. The film’s US collections have shown promising growth, jumping from $22,000 (Rs 19 lakh) to $60,000 (Rs 51 lakh) in just two days, with ticket sales increasing from 750 to 2,150.
However, compared to other Telugu films like Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898 AD, and Devara, Game Changer currently trails behind. It is expected that the release of its trailer will boost interest and improve its box office prospects.
Game Changer marks Shankar’s first release since the underperformance of Indian 2, the sequel to the 1997 superhit Indian starring Kamal Haasan. Although Indian 2 did decent business, it fell short of covering its massive budget. Due to this, rumors suggest that Indian 3 might go directly to an OTT release. However, a strong performance by Game Changer could change that outlook.
Game Changer has faced multiple delays. First, Shankar got busy with the shoot of Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan. Initially, the film was scheduled for a Christmas release. However, in October, the makers announced that they wouldn’t be able to release the film in December due to some portions still needing to be shot. They later confirmed the new release date as January 10.
