As Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2- The Rule minted more than Rs 114 crore in North America, ( United States of America and Canadamarket) , it is now time to focus on another money spinner waiting for its turn to unleash magic at the box office. And that film is Global Star Ram Charan’s first release after the super success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR with NTR Jr. Ram Charan is all set to release his film Game Changer directed by Shankar and co-starring Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah on the 10th of January.
The advance booking for the film has been gaining momentum in the last few days in the United States of America, as by Thursday morning, the film crossed the film Rs 1 crore mark. The film as per trends, has sold more than 4500 tickets from almost 300 locations. Till Wednesday, morning tickets for the film were available in 265 locations, and had sold almost 3500 tickets. In one day, the ticket sales have jumped by almost 1000.
Despite being the next big Telugu release, Game Changer hasn’t created an equal amount of buzz as compared to its predecessors like Baahubali series, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, and Kalki 2898 AD. This surge has positively impacted other major releases like NTR Jr’s Devara Part 1 and Pushpa 2. The difference shows in the number of screens allotted to the film, but the trade is hoping that the situation will change once the trailer of the film will be released, and one will get to know more about the film.
Game Changer is Shankar’s first release since the debacle of Indian 2, its sequel to 1997 superhit film Indian with Kamal Hassan. The film did decent numbers, but didn’t match up with the kind of money put into it. Based on its performance, it is being rumoured that Indian 3 would be a direct to OTT release, but things might change if Game Changer does well.
