PUCAR Hackathon for Justice 2026 [March 20]

About the Event

PUCAR (Public Collective for Avoidance and Resolution of Disputes) is hosting the Hackathon for Justice on 20 March 2026 in Bengaluru, a one-day collaborative sprint, bringing together lawyers, law students, technologists, designers, and policy thinkers to prototype real solutions for India’s justice system.

The event is a pre-event to the UIA Conference to be held at the Karnataka Judicial Academy on March 21, centred on the theme ‘Role of AI in Prevention and Resolution of Disputes’.

Event Day

The session is structured across three segments:

  • Innovation Showcase (3:00 – 3:45 PM)
Legal tech innovators will present their work and share real, on-the-ground problem statements drawn from their experience. Confirmed showcase participants include Sama, JustAct, Jhana, Jurisphere, and PACTA.
  • Collaborative Sprint (3:45 – 5:00 PM)
Participants form teams and work together to develop solutions to the problem statements presented during the showcase. Teams will ideate, design, and build a working prototype, vibe-coded demo, or concept with an implementation plan- all within 1.5 hours.
  • Jury Presentations (5:00 – 6:00 PM)
Teams present to a jury. The most promising solution from each track will be selected to present on stage at the UIA Conference on March 21 – before an audience that includes Supreme Court and High Court judges, BAI representatives, and senior advocates.

Tracks

Participants will work on solutions across three thematic tracks:

  • Access to Justice – Technology-driven solutions to improve access to legal information, services, and remedies.
  • Online Dispute Resolution – Tools and systems that support effective digital dispute resolution processes.
  • Legal Tech – Tools that improve legal workflows, research, compliance, and case management.
