A human chain was formed along the Riverfront Road from Vallabh Sadan to Usmanpura to protest against the oppression of Hindus living in Bangladesh.
A statement quoting RSS Gujarat prant sanghchalak Bharat Patel said, “Hindus living in Bangladesh who are being attacked should kill five attackers before getting killed. If Bangladeshis do not stop atrocities against Hindus, India must stop providing food, water and other aid to the neighbouring country.”
A written message from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was read at the meeting. The message said that efforts are being made to suppress the voice of Hindus in Bangladesh, which cannot be tolerated. The arrest of Iskcon Swami Chinmaykrishna Dasji is illegal, and RSS condemns the arrest. It is important for the govt of India to put pressure on Bangladesh to stop the atrocities happening there and also to create global consensus on the human rights violation in Bangladesh.
VHP state general secretary Ashok Rawal said he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister regarding the serious condition of Hindus in Bangladesh. He said that he urged PM Narendra Modi to call for a UN meeting on the situation in Bangladesh, where human rights of Hindus were being violated.
Shyamcharandasji Maharaj of Bhadaj Iskcon temple condemned the arrest of the Iskcon saint and attacks on Iskcon temples in Bangladesh. He demanded strict action against the attackers and said that the way the Iskcon sect is being attacked and accused is against the norms of civilised society.
