PM has no time to discuss atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, says Uddhav

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday took a dig at PM Narendra Modi and the BJP over the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Thackeray said he was requesting Modi that just like he stopped the war in Ukraine with a phone call, he should take a stand on the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh and stop them.
Thackeray said the Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs had requested Modi for a meeting to take up the issue of attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh but they were not given an appointment. He said Hindutva is not just about votes, but BJP’s Hindutva was only about scaring Hindus and taking their votes.
“Hindus are being attacked in Bangladesh. ISKCON temple was burnt down. Even though their (ISKCON’s) priests were arrested, we are silent. Even though Hindus are being attacked, facing atrocities, we are silent. On behalf of all Hindus, I request PM Modi that just as you stopped the war in Ukraine with a phone call, you should take a stand on the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh, and stop them. It is of no use just doing ‘katenge to batenge’ here. Don’t show off your bravery where there is no threat. We need to threaten those where atrocities are being committed,” Thackeray said.
“Our MPs had requested a meeting with PM Modi but they were denied. I had told them to go and give a letter to PM Modi. Because he is very busy. He has to travel around the world, give speeches. Therefore, he may not have noticed the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Bangladesh. He may not have understood the injustice in Manipur and the atrocities against Hindus. Therefore, the central government should clarify its role. Sheikh Hasina is safe when she comes here. But what about the poor Hindus in Bangladesh? PM Modi should tell us,” Thackeray said.
“One Nation One Election, all this can be seen later. But is BJP’s Hindutva just for votes? To scare Hindus and take their votes? Now that temples are not safe, where has their (BJP’s) Hindutva gone?” Thackeray said.
