New Delhi: A 39-year-old gangster with over 45 heinous cases was arrested by Delhi Police’s Crime Branch on Sunday. Rakesh, alias Sunny, a member of the Neeraj Bawania gang who was evading arrest, carried a reward of 50,000 on his head.
The arrest came after cops received a tip-off about his presence near Kilokari Village Sunlight Colony. Police seized a sophisticated pistol and five live cartridges from him. Rakesh, who was declared a proclaimed offender in six heinous cases, jumped interim bail granted by Delhi High Court in March. He was supposed to surrender after his father’s surgery but went underground instead. tnn
