NLU Delhi Hosts Deeksharambh for 18th B.A.LL.B. Batch – July 20, 2025

National Law University Delhi proudly hosted the Deeksharambh – Student Induction Programme for the 18th batch of the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) programme on Sunday, July 20, 2025. The newly admitted students were warmly welcomed by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai; Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul and the esteemed members of the faculty.

The ceremony commenced with the Lighting of the Lamp and the National Anthem, followed by a Welcome Address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi.

The University was honoured to host a distinguished panel of dignitaries for this momentous occasion.

Sh. Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, delivered the Guest of Honour Address, offering thought-provoking insights into legal practice, innovation, and ethics.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice (Retd.) Dinesh Maheshwari, Chairperson, Law Commission of India and Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, addressed also the gathering as Guest of Honour, speaking on the enduring values of justice and the constitutional vision of India.
Sh. R. Venkataramani, Hon’ble Attorney General for India, delivered the Special Guest of Honour Address, highlighting the dynamic role of law in shaping institutions and public discourse.

As part of the programme, the Top 3 All India Rank holders of AILET 2025 were felicitated for their exceptional academic achievements and successful admission to NLU Delhi.

Following this, Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul, Registrar, NLU Delhi, delivered the Vote of Thanks and introduced the members of the faculty to the new students and their families. An Open House session was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, providing an opportunity for students and parents to interact directly with the University administration.

The programme continued with orientation sessions on institutional policies and academic frameworks.

  • Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Sharma, Convener, UG Council, briefed the students on the Examination Rules and Regulations.
  • Prof. (Dr.) Anju Tyagi, Dean, and Prof. (Dr.) Amita Punj, Associate Dean, Department of Academic Affairs, presented an overview of the Academic Programmes and Regulations.
  • Prof. (Dr.) Niraj Kumar, Professor of Law and Chief Warden, introduced the Hostel Rules and Regulations.

The Deeksharambh programme was thoughtfully designed to familiarise students with the academic ethos, regulatory structure, and community life at NLU Delhi. The day marked the beginning of a transformative and intellectually enriching journey for the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) Class of 2025.
