About CFMRS

The Centre for Financial Markets and Regulatory Systems is an academic centre at NLIU Bhopal dedicated to promoting informed engagement with issues relating to financial markets, financial governance, and regulatory systems.

The Centre focuses on research, dialogue, and capacity-building at the intersection of law, finance, and public policy.

About the Symposium

The 1st NLIU National Symposium on Securities Law & Capital Markets, 2026 aims to foster scholarly discourse on the evolving regulatory landscape governing securities markets in India.

The Symposium aims to provide a national platform for academicians, practitioners, researchers, and students to deliberate upon contemporary legal and policy challenges within India’s evolving securities law and capital markets ecosystem.

Participants are invited to submit original and unpublished papers. Submissions may be made individually or in teams of a maximum of two authors. Top Performers will get a chance to intern with Luthra and Luthra Law Offices.

The Symposium will commence with a Session on Securities Law and Capital Markets, focusing on contemporary and practice-oriented developments in Indian securities regulation. This will be followed by paper presentation sessions organised into thematic panels, allowing scholars and practitioners to present and discuss their research.

  • Towards a Coherent Securities Law Code & Structural Reforms
  • Regulation of InvITs, REITs & Alternative Investment Structures
  • Primary Markets & Capital Formation
  • Secondary Markets, Market Infrastructure & Enforcement

Submission Categories

  • Long Articles (5000–8000 words)
  • Short Articles (3000–5000 words)
  • Case Notes & Legislative Comments (1500–2500 words)

Abstract Guidelines

Authors are required to submit an abstract (maximum 350 words) along with the full paper in accordance with the submission guidelines detailed in the brochure.

Registration Fee

  • Single Author – ₹3,500
  • Co-Authors – ₹6,000

The registration fee includes meals, accommodation arranged by the Organising Committee, transportation, conference materials, and certificates.

  • Best Presenter – 20,000 + Internship Opportunity with Luthra and Luthra Law Offices & Subscription Packages
  • Second Best Presenter – 12,000 + Internship Opportunity with Luthra and Luthra Law Offices & Subscription Packages
