About VidhiUtsav

VidhiUtsav, India’s Largest Academic Law Fest is a flagship academic initiative of the School of Law, UPES, and has established itself as a prominent national platform for legal scholarship and professional engagement.

The fest brings together students, academicians, practitioners, and jurists from across the country to engage in rigorous academic discourse through competitions, symposiums, and interactive sessions, fostering excellence in legal education and practice.

About Pro Bono Club, UPES

The Pro Bono Club, School of Law, UPES Dehradun has been established under the DISHA – Nyay Bandhu Scheme of the Department of Justice, with the vision of addressing the legal needs of society and strengthening citizen-centric delivery of justice. The Club actively works towards sensitising the new generation of lawyers to the importance of pro bono service and social responsibility.

The Club has undertaken several community-oriented initiatives, including the establishment of Community Care Legal Assistance (CCLA) centres in nearby villages, where students work closely with Village Pradhans to provide legal assistance and awareness to local communities.

About the Competition

The III National Pro Bono Service Competition seeks to bring together students from institutions with functional Pro Bono Clubs, providing them a platform to present and evaluate their initiatives and contributions towards serving underprivileged communities.

The competition focuses on critical issues surrounding access to justice and education, encouraging participants to identify systemic challenges, analyse gaps in implementation, and propose innovative and practical policy-oriented solutions. Shortlisted teams will advance to a presentation round, where the most impactful and well-reasoned submissions will be recognised and awarded.

Eligibility

The competition is open to any College, University, or Institution in India with a functional Pro Bono Club. Each institution may participate with two students per team, and there is no limit on the number of teams from a single institution.
