About the Conference

The Indian legal system has enacted several protective legislations for women to address gender-based discrimination, violence, and inequality. These laws aim to safeguard the dignity, autonomy, and fundamental rights of women while providing effective legal remedies.

However, alongside their protective intent, concerns have emerged regarding the alleged misuse of certain women-centric laws, raising questions about procedural fairness and the principles of natural justice. Judicial pronouncements have repeatedly emphasized the need to maintain a delicate balance between preventing misuse of the law and ensuring that genuine victims are not denied access to justice.

In this context, the concept of gender-neutral justice has gained prominence, prompting legal scholars and policymakers to re-examine existing legal frameworks.

This Conference seeks to provide a comprehensive platform for deliberation on safeguards, misuse concerns, and the evolving jurisprudence on gender justice, through scholarly discussion and practical insights.
