Naliya records 6.4°C, minimum may rise this week

Ahmedabad: Naliya in Kutch district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of the season so far at 6.4 degrees celsius on Tuesday, as some parts of the district recorded cold wave conditions. In all, five towns in the state recorded minimum temperatures below 10.5 degrees celsius: 10.1 degrees in state capital Gandhinagar, 10.2 degrees in Kandla and Vadodara, 10.3 degrees in Deesa, and 10.5 degrees in Keshod.
The forecast, however, mentioned that the minimum temperature may rise later this week in Gujarat.
Ahmedabad city recorded a minimum temperature of 13.7 degrees celsius, which was a slight decrease from 13.9 degrees on Monday. The minimum temperature was 0.7 degrees lower than normal, whereas the maximum temperature at 26 degrees was 4.8 degrees lower than normal. Citizens experienced windy weather throughout the day.
With northerly to northeasterly winds prevailing at lower levels over the region, the minimum temperature is likely to dip further, indicated the forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD). The city may experience a minimum temperature around 12 degrees on Wednesday, mentioned the forecast.
‘Gradual rise in minimum temperature by 2-3 degrees during the next five days is very likely over the region,’ mentioned the forecast for the state.
