MUMBAI: BEST bus driver Sanjay More‘s son Deep said their family of four has been shaken by Monday’s accident and that his father never drinks and has a clean record of 33 years of driving experience.
“We have been seeing him since childhood and we know there is not a single NC or FIR of any rash driving. He is very careful while driving. It is impossible to think that he may have been drunk. It is all rumours,” said Deep, who had come along with his close relatives to the Kurla court, where his father was brought for remand.
He said that no policemen informed his family about his father’s arrest; it was only after watching the news and when More did not answer the call that they rushed to Kurla and learnt from public. When asked whether he was able to speak to his father, Deep refused to comment.
More’s close relatives said they met him for a short time in police custody and More told them it was not his fault and there was snag in the electric bus.
