Mukesh Khanna reveals he rejected Aditya Chopra's YRF's offer to buy Shaktimaan's rights; says they would’ve turned it into a 'disco drama'

Mukesh Khanna recently shared that he turned down YRF‘s offer to buy the rights of Shaktimaan because he felt Aditya Chopra would have turned it into a “disco drama.”
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Khanna revealed that about ten years ago, Aditya Chopra’s team reached out to him, asking for the rights to Shaktimaan. He immediately declined their request. This happened around the same time a fan-made picture of Ranveer Singh as Shaktimaan had gone viral on social media, but Khanna refused to grant the rights.

Do you agree with Mukesh Khanna rejecting YRF’s offer for Shaktimaan’s rights?

The veteran actor made a counter-offer, saying that if Aditya Chopra wanted to make Shaktimaan, he should do it with him. He didn’t want to give away the rights for them to turn it into a disco drama, so he refused the offer.
In one of his earlier YouTube videos, Mukesh shared that he believes Telugu actor Allu Arjun could be a great fit for the role of Shaktimaan. He mentioned that while he hasn’t seen Arjun take on the role yet, his personality and on-screen presence make him a strong candidate for the character.

The veteran actor expressed his disappointment with the idea of Ranveer Singh playing Shaktimaan, stating that the character requires more than just acting skills. He emphasized that Shaktimaan needs the right face for the role, and while he acknowledges Ranveer’s talent, he wasn’t convinced by his appearance for the iconic character.
