Milbank LLP Litigation & Arbitration partner Josh Sterling will speak at NEXT Summit New York 2026, the largest dedicated online gambling and sports betting summit in North America, taking place March 10–11, 2026.
Mr. Sterling will speak on the panel “When Markets Outpace Rulebooks: Innovation vs State Regulation,” moderated by Bob Boyle, Managing Director at Ernst & Young. The discussion will explore how rapidly evolving federal and alternative market models are challenging longstanding state gaming rules.
A leading practitioner in commodities and derivatives law, Mr. Sterling previously served as Director of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Market Participants Division, where he oversaw regulatory policy and supervision of intermediaries and market participants. He now represents banks, trading firms, derivatives markets and other institutional clients in high‑stakes litigation, investigations, enforcement matters and regulatory proceedings before the CFTC.
