MG M9 electric Limousine to debut at Bharat Mobility Expo: What to expect
MG M9 electric Limousine to debut at Bharat Mobility Expo.

MG Motor India has confirmed the arrival of its luxury electric MPV, the MG M9, which will make its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo later this month. Positioned as a high-end electric limousine, the M9 is the Indian counterpart of the globally available MiFa 9. This announcement follows the debut of the Cyberster roadster. The M9 will be the second offering to join MG’s premium MG Select network in India.

MG M9: All you need to know

The majority of sales in the Indian luxury MPV market currently come from the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival. The M9 will compete in this segment, albeit being the only fully-electric model among the three. The model is expected to be brought to India as a CKD unit as MG’s pricing strategy will be crucial in determining its success in this competitive segment.
The M9 is likely to be offered in 7- and 8-seater configurations. It promises a host of luxury features, including powered first and second-row seats, captain chairs in the second row, and Level-2 ADAS. The MPV also boasts a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, power-operated sliding doors, a sunroof, and connected car technologies. Other highlights include touchscreen-operated reclining ottoman seats in the second row, which feature eight massage modes and a touchscreen handrail for control. It also gets three-zone climate control.

MG M9: Performance and range

Globally, the MiFa 9, features an electric powertrain with a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery. This setup powers a 245 hp front-wheel-drive motor that produces 350 Nm of torque. The vehicle boasts a WLTP-certified range of 580 km on a fully juiced battery and a top speed of 180kmph. The M9 measures 5,270mm in length, 2,000mm in width, and 1,840mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,200mm.
MG’s focus on NEVs aligns with its strategy for the Indian market. This is evident from the strong performance of its electric portfolio, with models like the Windsor EV crossing the 10,000-unit sales mark within three months of its launch.
