New Delhi: Two men were arrested for their involvement in a fake visa racket. The accused were identified as Inderjeet Singh (30), who has acted in a yet-to-be-released Punjabi web series, and Dilraj Singh (25).
According to police, on Dec 12, Dilraj was apprehended at IGI Airport after arriving from Canada as a deportee without travel documents. He went on fraudulent documents. Dilraj said Inderjeet, an agent , assured him that his illegal journey to the US would be arranged for Rs 42 lakh.
Dilraj paid Rs 10 lakh as advance. The agent told him he would travel to the US illegally after reaching Canada. Investigation revealed that on the night of Dec 8-9, Inderjeet gave Dilraj a ticket to Nepal at IGIA. After clearing immigration and security, he was given a passport, a US PR card and a boarding pass for Canada, said DCP (IGI) Usha Rangnani.
