Man arrested for hiding phone to secretly film in women’s washroom at Delhi government hospital

NEW DELHI: A man working as housekeeping staff at a government hospital in Dwarka has been arrested for secretly filming inside a women’s washroom, police said on Friday.
According to a PTI report, the matter came to light when a woman using the washroom heard a sudden ringing sound from a hidden mobile phone. Upon investigation, the phone was found with its camera turned on, sparking immediate suspicion.
“We have arrested the accused, who has confessed to placing the phone in the washroom,” a senior police officer said.
During interrogation, the accused revealed he had been engaging in this illicit activity for the past month. The police have seized the phone and launched an investigation into the matter.
This incident comes months after a similar case was reported in Bengaluru. There, an employee of a popular coffee shop on BEL Road was caught for hiding a phone in the women’s restroom dustbin to record videos secretly. The staff member had reportedly recorded for about two hours before being exposed.
The Bengaluru case gained attention after a customer discovered the phone and shared the ordeal on social media. She described finding the recording device while using the restroom, raising concerns over privacy violations in public spaces.
