There is no way West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is going to relent. Now on Sunday at Malda (South) while speaking at a rally in support of the TMC candidate, she said she had warned Congress against joining hands with the CPI(M). -Mamata Banerjee news update

“Not a single seat in the state assembly but we still wanted to give them two seats for the Lok Sabha polls as part of the INDIA alliance, but they didn’t listen to us and instead collaborated with the Left Front,” she said. –Mamata Banerjee news update

“I am not going to surrender to the Left. Mind you I was the one who coined the term INDIA alliance and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi shivers because of me,” she said as quoted by anandabazaronline.

“Our only aim is to stop the BJP and we will continue on our mission but is the Congress serious enough,” she asked.-Mamata Banerjee news update

Banerjee had walked out on the Congress in West Bengal as part of the INDIA alliance after facing barbs from state Congress chief Adhir Chowdhury a known foe of the West Bengal CM.

Elaborating further, she said there should be no division of votes that will give advantage to BJP. “We could have fought in other places but decided to concentrate in West Bengal. Only we can stop BJP, ” she said.  Yes, Banerjee also exuded confidence that only TMC can stop the BJP from making further inroads into Bengal and nobody else.

The contradictions in the INDIA alliance are conspicuous with such bitter rivalry between the partners in various states including Kerala (Congress vs Left), West Bengal (TMC vs Congress-Left).

According to political experts this will only create confusion in the minds of the voters and this can create an edge for the BJP which has been taking potshots at the conglomerate of contradictions.

Meanwhile Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely has put in his papers over the alliance with AAP in the capital. Similarly, senior Left leader Brinda Karat after tearing into Congress in Kerala, held a rally with the Grand Old Party in Kolkata which was however boycotted by certain Congress leaders in Jadavpur.

The estranged equations within the alliance partners are visible.

This is absolutely baffling and as said earlier can further endanger the alliance against NDA which is now banking on the Joy Bangla slogan as chanted by BJP  chief JP Nadda on Sunday during a rally at Berhampur from where Adhir is contesting..

So, as of now it looks, differences within the INDIA alliance can only be a boon for BJP which has been steadfast in launching a broadside at the alliance all over the country.
