About Nyaaya
Nyaaya (by Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy) is an open-access digital resource that provides simple, actionable, recallable, and authoritative legal information to Indian citizens. It aims to enable access to information about the law in multiple Indian languages so that access to justice becomes available to all.
About the Job
Nyaaya invites applications for the position of Intern – Karnataka to support the Samvidhaan Fellowship in Karnataka with programme implementation, fellowship administration, logistics, and legal research.
The intern will work closely with the Karnataka Programme Manager and the programme team to support administrative, coordination, and research-related tasks to ensure the smooth execution of fellowship activities and associated programmes.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate or postgraduate students in law or social sciences in any year of study with a strong interest in access to justice and social empowerment issues, particularly women’s and children’s rights.
- Fluency in English and Kannada (both written and spoken).
- Strong writing, research, and organisational skills.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Willingness to travel within Karnataka when required (travel expenses will be reimbursed).
- Prior experience in programme coordination, legal research, fieldwork, or social sector internships.
- Familiarity with access-to-justice initiatives, legal empowerment, or community-based programmes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall programme coordination and execution of the Samvidhaan Fellowship in Karnataka.
- Provide administrative and logistical support including scheduling meetings, documenting events, preparing reports, and coordinating with Nyaaya fellows, partners, and stakeholders.
- Support legal research for Nyaaya’s legal awareness programmes and partner organisations.
- Assist in on-ground programme activities such as workshops, meetings, and field visits when required.
- Support documentation, data management, and internal communications.
Duration
The internship will initially be for 3 months, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance.
Stipend
A monthly stipend of INR 7,500 will be provided along with an experience certificate.
Location
Candidates should be based in Karnataka and willing to travel within the state. There is no daily in-person office requirement.
