Over the past 15 years, Lawctopus has grown from a small initiative by a few NUJS Kolkata students into a platform that reaches and supports lakhs of law students and young lawyers across India.
We are happy to share that this journey has now been documented as a case study in the book “Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Startups in the Domain of Law”, published by Thomson Reuters and edited by Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar and Dr. Kalpeshkumar L. Gupta. See here.

The book explores how different organisations are shaping the legal ecosystem in India, and Lawctopus has been included as one of the examples of building in the legal careers and education space.
For us, this is a moment of great recognition, celebration, and an opportunity to pause and reflect. What started as a blog sharing internships has gradually evolved into a platform that combines media, community, and education through Lawctopus Law School.
While much has changed over the years, formats, scale, and offerings, our core intent remains the same: to help law students and lawyers discover opportunities, build skills, and grow.
We see this feature as a milestone, but also as a reminder that the journey is still unfolding.
