Law Tryst 2026 – Countrywide Law Fest by Jitendra Chauhan College of Law

About the Event

SVKM’s Jitendra Chauhan College of Law proudly presents Law Tryst 2026, the 27th edition of its flagship countrywide Law fest, scheduled to be held on 13th, 14th and 15th March 2026. Over the years, Law Tryst has evolved into a prestigious academic platform that brings together law students from across India to compete, collaborate, and engage with contemporary legal challenges.

This year’s theme — “The New Freedom: AI, IP & India’s Innovation Republic” — reflects the growing intersection of law, technology, and innovation. As India moves toward its Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, the theme explores how legal frameworks can protect intellectual property, encourage responsible innovation, and address ethical questions emerging from artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

Law Tryst 2026 is designed as a three-day immersive academic experience that blends courtroom simulation, policy debate, negotiation strategy, and client advisory skills. Participants will gain practical exposure, sharpen advocacy abilities, and interact with legal professionals in a high-energy competitive environment.

Event Details

Inter-Collegiate Moot Court Competition

The Moot Court is a cornerstone of Law Tryst, simulating real courtroom advocacy. Teams will argue complex legal issues centered on emerging themes in AI, intellectual property, and innovation law. The competition tests research depth, articulation, courtroom etiquette, and legal reasoning. Each team comprises two speakers and one researcher.

Model Parliament Competition

This event recreates parliamentary functioning and structured policy debate. Delegates represent government and opposition roles while engaging in discussions on national and socio-legal issues. The competition emphasizes leadership, constitutional awareness, public policy reasoning, and persuasive communication.

Negotiation Competition

Participants assume the roles of legal advocates and clients in realistic dispute scenarios. The focus is on strategy, communication, collaboration, and reaching balanced resolutions without escalation.

Client Counselling Competition

This event evaluates professional advisory skills. Teams must interview clients, identify legal concerns, and communicate structured guidance in a clear and empathetic manner — mirroring real-world legal consultations.
