The infrastructure of the college is designed to mirror a professional legal environment, offering a blend of modern utility and academic depth. The classrooms are well-structured and conducive to learning, while the library stands out as a premier facility, stocked with an extensive collection of reporters, journals, and digital databases essential for research.

While the hostel rooms provide varied, hygienic options for different budgets, the campus itself is aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained, providing a focused atmosphere for study. Sports facilities and common areas further support a balanced student life, though the highlight remains the academic spaces that facilitate rigorous training.

Overall, the infrastructure provides a solid foundation for both daily academics and high-level events, earning a 4/5 rating.

Rating: 4/5

The college maintains a sophisticated academic culture characterized by a student-led management structure overseen by dedicated administrators. The environment is defined by a rigorous calendar of professional events, including Moot Court competitions, Xitac trials, and Model United Nations (MUNs), which feature panels comprising distinguished current and former High Court judges.

This high-level practical exposure ensures that the theoretical curriculum is grounded in real-world legal and diplomatic excellence.

Regarding the teaching staff, the faculty is categorized into three tiers: 50% are elite mentors who actively support student research and event participation, while the remaining 50% are split between standard lecturers and those whose traditional methodologies may lack modern engagement.

While attendance is strictly enforced to ensure discipline, the well-structured class timings allow for a balanced academic life. Collectively, the institution offers a 5/5 for culture and a 4/5 for faculty quality.

Rating: 4.5/5

The peer quality at the college is rated 3/5, as the student body represents a “medium level” of academic entry scores, with many choosing this institution after not securing higher ranks elsewhere. However, what the cohort lacks in competitive ranking, it makes up for in community value.

The environment is dominated by second- and third-generation law students who are primarily focused on litigation rather than the corporate sector. This creates a unique dynamic where legacy students are exceptionally encouraging and helpful toward first-generation lawyers.

For example, having close friends who are second- or third-generation lawyers provides access to a wealth of inherited knowledge.

These peers and their parents often act as informal mentors, offering guidance on which books to refer to, sharing critical exam tips, and even facilitating internship opportunities.

While the corporate-leaning crowd is small, the overall peer group is resourceful and collaborative, ensuring that no student has to navigate the complexities of law school alone.

Rating: 3/5

The university offers a prolific co-curricular ecosystem, driven by a diverse array of student societies, including the Commerce Society, Debating Society, Entrepreneurship Cell (UDGAM), and the Moot Court & Trial Advocacy Society (XSLAS).

These organizations operate year-round, bridging the gap between classroom theory and professional practice. A major highlight of the social calendar is Xavrang, the flagship annual fest, which is preceded by “Pre-Xavrang” lead-up events, sports meets, and inter-college competitions that foster a high-energy campus atmosphere.

The management of these activities is entirely student-led, with core and working committees handling everything from sponsorship to event execution under faculty supervision. This structure provides invaluable exposure to leadership, crisis management, and professional networking.

Whether through high-stakes debating or organized sports, the university excels in providing a platform for holistic development, earning a 5/5 rating for its co-curricular and extra-curricular vibrancy.

Rating: 5/5

The placement landscape at the college is currently rated 2/5, primarily because formal campus recruitment and internship drives are considered low quality with limited student intake. For those who do secure positions through the college cell, the compensation packages are generally not competitive.

However, the institution’s true strength lies in its informal networks; students frequently secure high-quality internships by connecting with specific faculty members and leveraging a very supportive senior network.

Furthermore, participating in college-organized competitions is a proven pathway to success, as these events often serve as talent scouts where students earn Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) directly.

Because the student body is exceptionally hardworking, many choose not to participate in the formal placement process at all, instead securing their own paths into litigation or the judiciary.

While corporate opportunities are less common, the proactive nature of the students ensures they find their footing in the legal world through merit and networking.

Rating: 2/5

Although I do not reside on campus, the consensus among the student body is that the hostel facilities are well-maintained and highly organized.

The university provides diverse accommodation options tailored to different budgetary needs, ranging from double to triple-sharing rooms with the choice of attached or common washrooms. Hygiene and food quality are consistently monitored, ensuring a comfortable living environment.

The management is overseen by approachable wardens and dedicated student committees who organize exclusive hostel events during major festivals, fostering a strong sense of community within the separate male and female wings.

Given the variety of choices and the active social life within the dormitories, the hostel experience is rated 4/5.

Rating: 4/5

The university’s greatest strengths lie in its comprehensive course curriculum and the robust academic infrastructure that supports it.

The library serves as a vital hub for research, offering an extensive collection of legal and academic resources that are essential for both coursework and competitive event preparation.

Furthermore, the modern campus provides an inspiring environment that facilitates both focused study and professional networking, creating a professional atmosphere that prepares students for the rigors of the legal field.

Equally impactful is the presence of exceptional faculty members who go beyond traditional teaching to mentor students through research, writing, and practical competitions.

These mentors, combined with a high-octane calendar of specialized events like Moot Courts and MUNs, ensure that the college experience is not just theoretical but deeply experiential.

This synergy between top-tier facilities and a vibrant event culture makes the institution a standout choice for students seeking a well-rounded legal education.

In my professional assessment, the primary area for institutional improvement lies within the placement and internship ecosystem. While the college excels in academic and co-curricular domains, formalized career support for corporate roles remains underdeveloped.

The lack of high-tier campus recruitment drives and structured internship pipelines means that students must rely heavily on their personal networks, the goodwill of individual faculty members, or the competitive success of seniors to secure professional opportunities.

This reliance on self-driven networking can be particularly challenging for students without prior legal connections, as the current framework does not consistently guarantee high-quality professional placements for the entire graduating class.

Furthermore, the entry-level packages offered through existing channels are often modest compared to industry standards.

Strengthening the dedicated placement cell and establishing formal partnerships with corporate law firms would be essential to elevating this aspect of the student experience to match the excellence of the college’s other offerings.

Reflecting on my journey, I have realized that while many prospective students, myself included, initially prioritize placements and internships, the true value of a college lies in its course curriculum, faculty, and events. These three pillars are what truly hone a student’s professional skills; once a solid foundation is built here, securing opportunities becomes a natural byproduct of one’s competence.

As a first-generation law student, I initially had many doubts, but the academic rigor and practical exposure at this institution have more than satisfied my professional needs. Ultimately, I have learned that the name of the college is secondary to the individual performance and consistency of the student.

Law school is a marathon, not a sprint, and maintaining a strong CGPA across every semester is vital. Furthermore, I cannot overstate the importance of networking and friendships; the connections I made with peers and their families were instrumental in my growth.

Success in the legal field is a blend of personal dedication and the resourceful community you build around yourself.
