About DSSSB

As per Article 320 of the Constitution of India, the examinations for recruitment to all posts and services of the Central Government are required to be conducted by the UPSC.  However, the estimates Committee of Parliament in its 47th Report (1967-68) recommended setting up of a Service Selection Commission for taking over from the UPSC, examinations for recruitment to lower category of Class III posts.

The Administrative Reforms Commission also in their Report on Personnel Administration made similar recommendations.  Accordingly, it was decided by the Government of India to set up Subordinate Service Commission to conduct recruitment examinations to Class III categories, which constituted the bulk of the staff of the government at the Centre and in the States.

Eligibility

  • Possessing Regular Degree in Law (entitling the incumbent for registration at bar and appearing before the courts) from a recognized university or equivalent; and
  • 05 years experience at Bar.
  • Age limit: Not exceeding 32 years.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must be eligible in terms of age, educational qualifications, experience etc. as per Recruitment Rules notified by the User Departments for the post in which he/she intends to apply.
  • The educational qualification, age, experience etc. as stipulated in advertisement shall be determined as on 28/03/2026 i.e. crucial date / cut-off date..

Salary

₹ 47,600 – 1,51,100/- (Pay Level – 8), Group: ‘B’.

How to Apply?

  • Before submitting online applications, candidate must ensure that he/she is registered on DSSSB’s portal i.e. https://dsssbonline.nic.in. The instructions for registration are available on the DSSSB’s website. Registration with DSSSB is a onetime exercise. The user ID and password generated after registration should be used to login whenever a candidate is applying for examinations of the posts notified by DSSSB. No separate registration is required for each of examination conducted by DSSSB. If, an applicant submits multiple registrations and appears in the examination (at any stage) more than once, his/her candidature will be cancelled and he/she will be debarred from the examinations of the Board.
  • Eligible candidates may apply online through the website attached at the end of the post from 27th February, 2026 (12.00 Noon) up to 28th March, 2026 (till 11:59 PM) thereafter, the link will be disabled.
  • The candidates must go through the instructions carefully while filling up online application form for the post concerned.
  • The candidates must submit their application through Online Mode only. No other mode of application shall be accepted. Applications received through any other mode i.e. by post/by hand/by mail etc. will not be accepted and shall not be considered. No correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.

Fee

₹ 100/- (One Hundred only).

  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) & Ex-Serviceman category are exempted from paying application fees.
  • Ex-Servicemen who have already secured employment in civil post under Central Government /Government of NCT of Delhi or its Autonomous /Local Bodies on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to Ex-Servicemen for their re-employment are NOT eligible for fees concession.
  • The candidates submitting their application online should pay the requisite fees only through SBI e pay. Other mode of payment shall not be accepted/considered and the payment made shall stand forfeited.
  • Application fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Exam Scheme

Section A:

MCQs of 01 mark each –

  1. General Awareness
  2. General Intelligence & Reasoning ability
  3. Arithmetical & Numerical Ability
  4. Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension
  5. Test of English Language & Comprehension

(20 Marks each) (100 Questions : 100 Marks)

Section-B :

Objective type multiple choice questions of 01 mark each on the subject concerned as per the qualification prescribed for the post.

Selection Process

  • The selection shall be made through examination schemes as mentioned above.
  • Marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Test/Exam will be normalized (If required) by using the formula published by DSSSB vide Notice No. 10 (271)/Sec.Cell/DSSSB/18/989 dated 11.07.2018 (Annexure-II) and such normalized scores shall be used to determine final merit and provisional nomination/selection.
  • In case of any question(s) appearing in the exam are held to be invalid, those questions shall not be evaluated and the marks scored by the candidate shall be calculated on prorata basis (out of maximum marks).
  • Draft answer keys of the Computer Based Examination will be displayed on the website of DSSSB after the examination. Candidates may go through the draft answer keys and submit online objections, if any, within the stipulated time limit given by the Board. Objection(s) regarding the draft answer keys received through the online mode within the time limit fixed by the Board will only be considered and scrutinized before finalizing the answer keys. However, the decision of the Board in this regard shall be final. Objections received through any other mode(s) e.g. letter, application, email etc. shall not be entertained. After the receipt of objection(s) in the above stated authorised manner, no further representations, if any shall be entertained in this regard by the Board anytime during or after the display of draft answer key.
