AMRITSAR: A blast was reported at the Islamabad police station in Amritsar, Punjab, on Tuesday morning, according to police officials.
Officials confirmed that the explosion occurred around 3am.
Some people claimed responsibility for the incident through social media platforms. Following thorough verification of these assertions, authorities arrested ten people from an organised module. Two siblings were subsequently detained, with one being a juvenile offender.
Police officials are actively pursuing Aman Khokhar and two to three additional suspects, who remain at large but are expected to be apprehended imminently.
“Our sentry heard the noise around 3 am-3.15 am. He saw that the was no damage. People claimed responsibility on social media. We verified those claims. We had nabbed 10 people from a module earlier, two brothers were also nabbed – one of them is a juvenile. Another man, Aman Khokhar & 2-3 others are on our target and they will be nabbed soon. Old incidents have been traded and we are verifying this incident as to what has been used here. But we will investigate this and take it to its logical end. This module will be neutralised. We are alert,” said Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Amritsar police commissioner.
Following the incident, senior police officials arrived at the scene.
No damage or injuries have been reported.
