Nyaaya is an open-access, digital resource that provides simple, actionable, recallable, and authoritative legal information to Indian citizens. We want to enable access to information about the law in multiple Indian languages so that access to justice is available to all.
About the Opportunity
Nyaaya is looking for a motivated and responsible intern based in Karnataka to assist the Karnataka Programme Manager with the overall coordination and execution of the Samvidhaan Fellowship and allied activities.
The initial duration of the internship will be 3 months, with a strong possibility of an extension for a longer term subject to performance.
Mentorship and guidance will be provided throughout the internship.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Assisting with overall programme coordination and execution of the Samvidhaan Fellowship in Karnataka.
- Providing administrative and logistical support, including scheduling meetings, documentation of events, reporting, and coordination with Nyaaya’s fellows, partners, and stakeholders.
- Supporting legal research for Nyaaya’s legal awareness programmes and partner organisations, where necessary.
- Assisting in on-ground programme activities, including workshops, meetings, and field visits if and when necessary.
- Supporting documentation, data management, and internal communications
Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate or postgraduate law or social science student in any year of study with a strong interest in access to justice and social empowerment issues, with a specific focus on women’s and children’s rights
- Fluency in both English and Kannada is mandatory (written and spoken)
- Strong writing , research and organisational skills
- Strong project management abilities, with an eye for detail
- Proactive mindset, ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel within Karnataka, when required (travel expenses will be reimbursed)
- Prior experience in programme coordination, legal research, fieldwork, or social sector internships
- Familiarity with access-to-justice, legal empowerment, or community-based programmes

Stipend
A monthly stipend of INR 7,500 along with an experience certificate will be offered.

Location
The intern should just be based out of Karnataka and be willing to travel. There is no daily in-person office requirement.
