First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, and First Impression
Nice first impression; I understood the type of works and projects undertaken by the Law Foundation. The office had a professional environment.
Main Tasks
First I was assigned to Jehanabad; there I worked under Rajendra Sir.
- I went to the Civil Court in Jehanabad to understand the types of cases handled there.
- Then I went to a village to spread awareness about mediation, child marriage, and Lok Adalats.
- I also joined the POCSO awareness meeting conducted in the D.M. Office, Jehanabad.
- Then I was reassigned to Patna for Nukkad Natak preparation.
- I also made a report on BGRM (Beneficiary Grievance Redressal Mechanism) and submitted it to Rajendra Sir.
- I had court visits, which included Railway Court, Civil Court Patna, and Jehanabad Civil Court.
Work Environment
The environment was professional and supportive. The members helped us understand what type of work is done in the Law Foundation and the various processes they use. Everyone was really friendly and supportive to me. The members were strict and disciplined when needed, which made the environment professional.
Good Things about the Internship
The internship was very helpful for me to gain knowledge about a lot of things. It was a unique experience. I got to know about the work of NGOs on a day-to-day basis and the functions done by them.
It was a great way to understand how social workers work.
Bad Things about the Internship
I was not able to work as much as I expected, and my visits were not as many as others’. I felt underworked, but it was also because half of my work was done in Jehanabad. It was also challenging to commute so far away daily and get into traffic. These factors led to me being scolded by seniors.
Monthly Stipend
No, Stipend
Details about the accommodation and commuting to the Office
I had to commute in the first week from Gaya to Jehanabad. After that I was transferred back to the Patna office, and from there I used to commute daily from Patna City.
