About the Competition
The Lucknow University Moot Court Association (LUMA), Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, is pleased to extend a cordial invitation to the 12th Inter Collegiate Moot Court Competition.
This competition is organized with the objective of providing law students a distinguished platform to demonstrate and refine their mooting, oratory, and legal research skills.

About the Organization
Established in 2012, the Lucknow University Moot Court Association (LUMA) was founded with the objective of cultivating practical knowledge and skills indispensable to the legal profession. Since its inception, the Association has consistently upheld its commitment to academic excellence and professional training through a wide range of prestigious events.
Over the years, LUMA has successfully organized 11 inter-semester moot court competitions, 11 inter-collegiate moot court competitions, 5 national moot court competitions, and 1 international moot court competition.
In addition, the Association has conducted a National Judgment Writing Competition, Client Counselling Competition, Memorial Drafting Competition, National Seminars, and several other academic initiatives that have enriched the learning experience of law students.
Eligibility
All students whether pursuing 5 year LL.B or 3 year LL.B from any institution recognized by the bar council of India (based in Lucknow) are eligible.
Mode
The competition shall be conducted in offline mode at the New Campus of the University of Lucknow, Jankipuram, Lucknow.
General Rules
- All teams shall consist of a maximum of 3 participants [two members designated as ‘Speaker’ and one member designated as ‘Researcher’] or 2 participants [both speakers],
- Students pursuing the Three-Year or Five-Year LL.B. degree or its equivalent, students from the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, students from law colleges affiliated with the University of Lucknow, and students from all other law colleges and universities based in Lucknow are eligible to participate.
- Any law college may send a maximum of two teams to the Competition, except the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow.
- The participating team shall comprise a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. In a team of two members, both members shall be designated as Speakers. In a team of three members, two members shall be designated as Speakers, and the third member of the team shall be designated as a Researcher.
- No additional member or team coach is allowed to accompany the team.
- There will be team cap of 44 teams.
Language
The official language of the competition shall be English.
Dress Code
Participants are required to adhere to the following dress code while present at any courtroom during the Competition.
- Female: White Salwar and Kurta or White shirt and black pants/black skirt along with black coat and black shoes.
- Male: White shirt, black trousers, black tie along with black coat and black shoes.
Registration Process
All teams that desire to participate in the competition must fill out the Google registration from before 20th March, 2026 through the link given below.
Upon confirmation of participation, each team will be allotted a ‘Team Code’. The teams shall refer to themselves during the competition using this code only. They shall otherwise not disclose their identity to anybody except as and when a member of the Organizing Team (LUMA) demands.
Important Dates
- 20th March, 2026- Last Date of Registration & online payment.
- 27th March, 2026- Deadline for submission of soft copies of memorials.
- 30th March, 2026- Deadline for submission of hard copies of memorials.
- 3rd April, 2026- Inaugural Ceremony, Exchange of Memorials, and Researcher Test.
- 4th April, 2026- Preliminary Rounds I & II followed by the Quarter-Final Round.
- 5th April, 2026- Semi-final, Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony.
Prizes
- Winning Team – Trophy, medals, certificates of appreciation, and three (for each member of the team) one-year complimentary subscriptions to SCC Online Web Edition, each worth Rs. 32,000.
- First Runners-up – Trophy, medals, and certificates of appreciation.
- Best Mooter – Trophy, medal, and certificate of appreciation.
- Best Memorial – Trophy, medal, and certificate of appreciation.
- Best Researcher – Trophy, medal, and certificate of appreciation.
- Certificates of Participation – To be awarded to all participants.
- Special Award – For outstanding performance by first-year participants.
- One month access to the SCC Online Web Edition valued at Rs. 3100 each shall be given to all the participants.

Each team shall submit the registration fee of Rupees:
- INR 2000/– (For teams of Faculty of Law, Univ of Lucknow)
- INR 2700/– (For other teams)
