How India’s Digital Infrastructure Can Accelerate the World Economy

Sunil Mittal, the chairperson of Bharti Airtel, has recently shared his views on how various countries are anxious to replicate India’s digital framework. India’s reformation in the digital sector has been evident in every big and small company, and it is rapidly becoming a manufacturing hub.

“Country after country, as well as World Bank, United Nations, WTO, Africa Union, European Union, G20, BRICS, everyone is chanting that the digital infrastructure that India has built can accelerate the world economy, especially in those count countries which have lack of infrastructure,” Sunil Mittal, Bharti Airtel.

Mittal also claimed India’s rapid growth was scaling and emerging to become a world leader. Big brands like Apple and Samsung have started manufacturing in India. We see the same trend in other industries like the automobile and energy sectors, where foreign investors are collaborating with Indian industrialists to set up their manufacturing units.

“I spoke about it last year that manufacturing of the scale and size that we want may not happen in India during my lifetime. But I realized that India is moving fast,” said Mittal.

By 2024, Airtel will connect every village with mobile towers and cover the entire country with 5G. No matter how remote a village or location is, from next month onwards, a satellite ground station set up in Mehsana will enable us to get connected. Prime Minister Modi, during the India Mobile Congress meeting, said that after the completion of the 5G network, India will soon witness 6G technology and that India will shortly lead in the telecommunication industry.

Mittal said, “Satellite Communication is here to serve every inch of our country and of course the globe. With your intervention, we were able to get two rockets launched from ISRO and today Oneweb constellation, in which Bharti has the largest stake, is ready to serve the globe, is ready to serve the country.”

India has seen rapid growth after the Narendra Modi Government came into power. India has reformed in almost every sector, and digitalization has been the epicenter of the infrastructure. World leaders have recognized India’s digital model, and many countries are keen to replicate the infra modal.

Recently, Prime Minister Modi humbly offered the world to imitate the digital public infra model for “scalable, secure, and inclusive solutions for global challenges.”  In the recent meeting at the Bharat Mandapam, CEOs of the leading communication industry were seen sharing the stage with the Prime Minister and discussing further revolutionary expansion plans.
