IIM Mum achieves 100% placement in 1st phase

Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai concluded the first phase of its 2025 placement season, placing all its students with more than 20 months of work experience: 373 job offers were made by 78 companies. So far, Microsoft has offered the highest salary of Rs 54 lakh per annum.
Phase 1 of placements kicked off on Nov 25, and students with work experience of less than 20 months will be placed starting Jan. Of the 78 companies participating, 20 were first-time recruiters. Accenture emerged as the largest recruiter in this phase with 41 offers, nearly double its previous year’s tally. The consultancy giant provided roles with a competitive annual package of Rs 37 lakh.
“This year’s placements have been very good. Companies that were hiring two or three candidates last year have picked students in double digits. Companies have positive outlooks and have been offering interesting job profiles, especially in the logistics and consultancy sectors,” said Neeraj Pandey, chairperson of placement, IIM Mumbai. “We got many more offers compared to last year. All the candidates with work experience, as well as some freshers, were placed. The remainder will have another round in Jan.”
Traditional sectors like operations and supply chain management continued to play a significant role, with multiple companies hiring graduates for specialised roles. Parallel to the placements, the summer internship process for the Class of 2026 also recorded impressive results. A total of 128 companies offered internships to 425 students, with the average stipend reaching Rs 3 lakh for two months. Coca-Cola led the pack, offering the highest stipend of Rs 5 lakh, setting a benchmark in the business internship space.
The internship stipends for top performers was as follows: the top 10% secured an average stipend of Rs 5 lakh, the next 20% received Rs 4.5 lakh on average, and the top 50% earned Rs 3.75 lakh.
