Gandhinagar: Cooperative leader and IFFCO (Indian Farmer’s Fertilizers Cooperative) chairman Dileep Sanghani advocated for adding the benefits of cows to the education system.
Speaking at the annual convention of the Global Confederation of Cow-based Industries held recently at Kadi near Gandhinagar, Sanghani said this would go a long way in preserving the cow and its progeny in the state.
“When I was minister for animal husbandry and law in the state, we made laws against the illegal ferrying of cows more stringent. The legal framework to protect cows must be strengthened. The benefits of cows must be a part of the education system as well. This will go a long way in preserving our indigenous breeds of cows,” the leader said.
Sanghani said that all ancient Hindu scriptures have references to cows and the cow made a prominent contribution even in ancient societies. “If a culture of cow protection is taught from the school level, it will play a significant role in the protection of the cow,” the former MP said.
