IAS Success : The circumstances of the family were completely opposite. But he had the passion to achieve something. There came a time when he had to walk many kilometers to study. But his passion for studies was such that he would cover kilometers on foot. There came a time when he had to take a loan to study. This is the story of a person whose name itself has Veer in it and his deeds are also heroic. This story tells that success is achieved only by those who have tasted the struggle.

This is the story of Veer Pratap Singh Raghav, a resident of Dalpatpur, a small village in Uttar Pradesh. He faced many challenges and succeeded in the UPSC exam. His story is an inspiration for lakhs of candidates preparing for the UPSC exam. He secured 92nd rank in the UPSC exam. He used to go to Arya Samaj School, Karoda for his early education. At the same time, he used to go to Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Shikarpur for studies from sixth to 10th class. He had to go 5 kilometers away from home to go to school. He used to cover this distance on foot. At that time there was no bridge in the village, due to which he used to cross the river to go to school.


father borrowed money

A small farmer of Dalpatpur village in Bulandshahr borrowed money on interest to help his son Veer Pratap prepare for UPSC. All his earnings were spent on food and other needs of the family. But he had full faith in his son and he succeeded in the exam.


I failed twice

Veer Pratap Singh Raghav has studied from Aligarh Muslim University. He has studied mechanical engineering from here. While coming from the engineering field, he scored 306 out of 500 marks in philosophy. Veer Pratap did not get success in his first attempt. He made two more attempts before succeeding in the exam, in which he failed. But he did not give up due to failure, kept working hard and stopped only after getting success in the exam.
