Learned counsel for the petitioners contends, inter alia, that the
adoption deed was executed and registered in the year 2011 much after the
enactment of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Personal Law (Shariat)
Application Act, 2007, which does not recognize adoption among Muslims
in Jammu and Kashmir.
