GHAZIABAD: In a move towards land acquisition for Harnandipuram township, DM Indra Vikram Singh met with officials on Friday, formed a six-membered committee, and directed GDA, along with tehsil-level officials, to survey the land to be acquired.
The township will be developed on 521 hectares. GDA needs to acquire 501 hectares of land. Of this, the development authority has 11 hectares in its bank and needs to acquire the remaining land from eight villages.
According to an estimate, Rs 10,000 crore will be needed to develop Harnandipuram, and a large chunk will go into acquiring land at mutually agreed rates from the farmers, officials said.
“GDA will need to acquire 501 hectares of land, out of which 11 hectares is with the development authority. The authority will have to acquire nearly 490 hectares of land. Of this, as per our survey, about 27 hectares of land is gram sabha land,” said GDA secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.
A govt order mandates the formation of a committee under the DM if the land acquisition for a project costs more than Rs 10 crore.
“The six-member committee includes the ADM of finance and revenue, the GDA vice chairperson, an official from the tehsil level, the stamp department, and the GDA Secretary. The committee held its first meeting on Friday, in which DM Singh directed a joint survey of land by GDA and officials from the tehsil level, which is to be acquired,” added Singh.
The biggest chunk of land will be acquired from Nangla Ferozepur village (247.8 hectares), followed by Shamsher village (124 hectares), Shahpur Morta (54.2 hectares), Champat Nagar (39.2 hectares), Bhanera Khurd (11.8 hectares), Mathurapur village (8.7 hectares), Bhowapur (2.6 hectares), and Morti (2.6) hectares.
While the state govt will cover 50% of the total project cost under the CM Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme, GDA will cover the remaining amount.
GDA is simultaneously planning for the detailed project report (DPR) of the township. On Wednesday, it invited private firms for a presentation before selecting an agency to make the DPR of the Harnandipuram township. A committee within GDA has been formed to assess the presentations made by the companies, after which financial bids for creating the DPR will be invited. As per the understanding, companies will be paid on a per-hectare basis.
