Two jewellery exhibitions to be held in city

Surat: As the wedding season approaches, the city is buzzing with excitement over jewellery exhibitions. Two events have been scheduled to cater to retail customers and jewellers looking to stock up.
The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) had taken the initiative to organize a three-day B2C event, Sparkle International Gems and Jewellery Exhibition 2024, from Dec 20 at Indoor Stadium.
Meanwhile, a three-day B2B event, Roots Gems and Jewellery Manufacturers Show 2024, will be held from Dec14, organized by Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association (SJMA) and Surat JewelTech Foundation at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center in Sarsana. The Roots exhibition will be inaugurated by chief minister Bhupendra Patel.
On Sparkle, Vijay Mevawala, president of SGCCI, said, “Sparkle will be in B2C format, showcasing innovative and exquisite designer jewellery created by over 30 jewellers from across India. The exhibition will highlight the uniqueness of Surat’s jewellery to the world.”
Sparkle will feature a special wedding collection tailored for non-resident Indians (NRIs). Keeping women buyers in focus, their wedding preparations and branded bridal collections will be part of the exhibition. Last year, over 600 couples and their families were invited to Sparkle and this year, couples preparing for their weddings will also be invited to explore the vast jewellery collection.
“This will be the fourth edition of Roots, and over 150 manufacturers from Surat and other cities will showcase more than 15,000 unique jewellery designs. Over 2,000 jewellers have already registered for the exhibition,” said Jayanti Savaliya, president of SJMA.
At Roots, a jewellery collection including gold, silver, lab-grown diamonds, natural diamonds and other varieties will be on display. Roots has been organized on a no-profit basis to benefit the jewellery manufacturing sector, an organiser said. Panel discussions and seminars by industry experts will also be held.
