MUMBAI: Gehana Vasisth, a lesser-known actress and a suspect in a money laundering investigation, arrived at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office at Ballard Estate to provide her testimony.
She and entrepreneur Raj Kundra are under scrutiny in a financial probe concerning the creation and dissemination of adult content through mobile apps.
Reports indicate that Kundra’s previous employees uploaded explicit and obscene videos on the mobile application, allegedly filmed by Gehana Vasisth. The ED recently conducted raids at 19 locations, including those associated with Kundra and Vasisth, across Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Uttar Pradesh. During these operations, the ED blocked several bank accounts and collected mobile phones for investigation.
The probe centres on allegations regarding the production of pornographic material and its dissemination through digital platforms. In 2021, Vasisth, Kundra, and other suspects were arrested by the Mumbai police for producing and uploading adult content online and are currently out on bail. Kundra maintains his innocence, claiming no direct involvement in content production.
In 2021, Mumbai police’s crime branch discovered an alleged pornographic film production setup during a raid at a Madh Island bungalow. The investigation subsequently led to Gehana Vasisth and Raj Kundra.
Authorities claim Kundra facilitated adult video streaming through the Hotshots application. Operating from Viaan Industries office, Kundra allegedly managed content supply for the UK-based organisation. Ryan Thorpe, his IT director, supervised the application’s operations and financial dealings. Kundra informed police about selling the Hotshots application in 2019.
