New Delhi: Delhi Police has re-intensified its drive to identify and deport Bangladeshi immigrants living illegally in the city. The decision follows a high-level review meeting chaired by Union home minister Amit Shah recently, an officer said.
According to police, the drive began with multiple teams verifying documents in various areas of the city. “We have also sent teams to other states to verify residency claims. It’s an extensive exercise, with teams verifying details and sharing information,” the officer explained.
In west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh, two Bangladeshi nationals, Sajal Mia and Mohammad Ali, were apprehended.
