JUDGMENT AND ORDER

1. The petitioners herein who are stated to be the members of the

Executive Committee of the Shnat Raid Nongshken are before this Court

being aggrieved at the non-disposal of their representations dated

19.01.2026 and 11.02.2026, filed before the respondents Nos. 2 & 3, with

regard to the matter concerning the office of the Sordar Shnat Raid

Nongshken.

2. It has been submitted by Mr. P. Yobin, learned counsel for the

petitioners that respondent No. 5, though suspended by the Lyngdoh of

Raid Nongshken, had continued to function, and the same has led to

difficulties within the Shnat Raid itself, for which representations have

been filed. He further submits that to the representations, it appears that

the Executive Committee, District Council has issued a show cause notice

to the respondent No. 5, a copy of which has just been obtained.

Notwithstanding this fact he submits, the respondents may be directed to

dispose of the matter concerning the office of the Shnat Raid Nongshken,

within a time frame.

3. Mr. T.T. Diengdoh, learned Senior counsel assisted by Mr.

C.C.T Sangma, learned counsel for the respondent District Council has

submitted that the writ petition has become infructuous, and further that

the matter concerning the office of the Shnat Raid Nongshken is also

seized by the Executive Committee, inasmuch as, against the said

suspension, a stay order is operating. He therefore, submits that nothing

remains for consideration before this Court, and the respondents Nos. 2 &

3, shall deal with the matter in accordance with law.

4. In view of the submissions and circumstances of the case,

issuance of notice to the other respondents Nos. 3, 4 & 5, is not deemed

necessary, and the instant writ petition is disposed of at the motion stage

itself, by directing that the 2(two) representations concerning the office of

the Sordar Shnat Raid Nongshken be disposed of expeditiously, preferably

within a period of 2(two) months.

5. In the meantime, status quo shall be maintained, till further

orders are passed by the respondent No. 2.

6. The matter stands closed and is accordingly disposed of.
