Filmmaker Pankaj Parashar shared that Sridevi filmed the song ‘Na Jaane Kahan Se‘ for ChaalBaaz while battling a high fever. Despite her illness and her co-star Sunny Deol’s brief absence, she completed the shoot. Pleased with the result, she rewarded the crew with cash after wrapping up.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Pankaj revealed that the song was shot over three days, with Sridevi pushing him to create something unique. She challenged him to design a sequence that would stand out from her previous work. Despite having a fever, Sridevi insisted on completing the shoot, even though Pankaj advised her to keep it from her mother to avoid halting the filming.
The filmmaker went on to share that Sridevi completed the song by 2 a.m., which later won an award for best choreography. Despite being unwell, she refused to leave and took a brief break before returning with a bag of money. She then distributed it to the entire crew, expressing her joy and saying, “You have no idea what we’ve achieved today.”
Sridevi’s dedication didn’t stop with the shoot. She organized a celebration at the Gaiety Galaxy theatre for her musical numbers, where the entire crew gathered that night. The celebration lasted for hours before she went home at 5 a.m., only to be bedridden for the next 10 days. Pankaj Parashar shared that while Sridevi was initially distant, she gradually warmed up to him as the ChaalBaaz shoot continued. Tragically, the actress passed away in 2018 due to an accidental drowning in Dubai.
