National Law University, Delhi, in collaboration with the Women’s Collective Forum (WCF), hosted a high-level conclave under the SPARK 100K Collective, focusing on building growth-ready dispute systems for MSMEs. The initiative brought together institutional leaders, practitioners, and policy stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening dispute resolution frameworks that support grassroots entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth.
The valedictory session commenced with the Opening Address by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice Chancellor, NLU Delhi, who emphasised the importance of legal certainty, institutional coherence, and accessible dispute mechanisms in sustaining economic confidence and enabling MSME development.
The session was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Smriti Irani, Chairperson, Alliance for Global Good and Advisor to the Women’s Collective Forum. She formally unveiled the draft White Paper titled “Building Growth-Ready Dispute Systems for Grassroots MSMEs: The SPARK Vision.” In her address, she reflected on the significance of institutional reform, inclusive economic participation, and the role of collaborative leadership in strengthening India’s commercial justice ecosystem. She also engaged in an open house interaction, responding to questions on governance reform and pathways for broad-based economic empowerment.
Mr. Jayesh Jotangia, Barrister, 4–5 Gray’s Inn Square, offered comparative reflections, drawing lessons from the UK arbitration ecosystem and its relevance for India’s scale and diversity. Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul, Registrar & Director, CADR, NLU Delhi, briefed the gathering on the vision, institutional collaboration, and framework underlying the draft paper.
The White Paper has been authored by Dr. Nidhi Gupta, Kashish, Garv, and Prateek, whose research and institutional engagement shaped the SPARK Vision for democratising dispute resolution at the grassroots level. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Aman Saini on behalf of the Women’s Collective Forum.
The conclave reaffirmed NLU Delhi’s continued commitment to strengthening commercial justice systems that enable inclusive and regionally distributed economic growth.
