Delhi school admission 2025: First merit list out for nursery, KG, and Class 1, query resolution window to open today

The Directorate of Education, Delhi, released the first merit list for nursery, KG, and Class 1 admissions in private schools on January 17, 2025. Parents and guardians who registered their children for nursery, kindergarten (KG), or Class 1 admissions for the 2025-26 academic year can check the merit list issued by the respective schools.
Around 1,741 schools have released their merit lists along with their waiting lists.

Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, has shortlisted 108 candidates, while 245 are on the waiting list. Vikas Bharati Public School, Vasant Kunj, has selected 140 students and placed 20 on the waiting list, as reported by PTI.
The Directorate of Education, Delhi, will now open a query resolution window from January 18 to January 27, 2025. If required, the second merit list will be released on February 3, 2025.

Delhi Nursery Admissions 2025-26: Important dates for admission lists

Date Event
January 3, 2025 Last date for parents to upload details for nursery, KG, and Class 1 admissions (open seats).
January 17, 2025 Release of the first list of selected students.
January 18 to January 27, 2025 Window for allotment-related queries for the first list.
February 3, 2025 Release of the second list of selected children (if needed).
February 5 to February 11, 2025 Window for allotment-related queries for the second list.

Delhi Nursery Admissions 2025-26: Age relaxation policy

For students falling slightly outside the minimum or upper age limit for their respective classes, the heads of schools have the authority to grant an age relaxation of up to 30 days. Parents seeking such an exemption must approach the school heads or principals directly and submit a manual application.
This streamlined admission process ensures transparency and accessibility while catering to the needs of diverse groups within the city.
