Organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, hundreds of Hindu saints gathered at the Tamil Nadu Bhawan in Delhi protesting against politicians who were mocking Sanatan Dharma.
The founders of the Delhi Saint Council, Acharya Mahamandeleswar Swami Balakanandan Maharaj, and Swami Raghavnann Maharaj addressed saints and Sanatanis on the importance of religious tolerance.
The gathering of saints protested against Sanatan intolerance by burning effigies. The saints also urged that Udayanidhi Stalin apologize for his recent comment against Sanatan Dharma. Stalin had recently commented on the need to eradicate Sanatan Dharma completely. He even compared the ancient Dharmic religion to “dengue” and “malaria.”
Religious tolerance has now become a thing of the past. Good values and tolerance are only spoken about on TV and online platforms, but when it comes to displaying any form of tolerance in real life, neither the media nor the politicians show any kind of religious tolerance.
In an interview with ANI News Sadhguru mentioned the following:
“I think that law should contain these people because, in all the communities, people want to take care of their lives, they want to educate, find jobs, and make a good living. Above all, women in their families want to live well. They don’t want their men to be bickering and quarreling… They don’t have patience nor do they intend to have in that direction. Such elements are there everywhere.”
The truth is religious tolerance in theory and practice are two completely different things. Religious or any kind of tolerance requires time and immense patience: two qualities that are completely missing in the modern world. In this day and age of fast food and speedy cars, time and patience have become a thing of the past. Tolerance is an art that requires practice and practice needs time and patience.
Again, tolerance comes to a person as a result of him realizing his relationship with nature. A person on the path of spirituality begins to realize that everything that exists has evolved from nature. We are one consciousness experiencing different layers of it. He sees everything as part of one whole and naturally becomes tolerant of everything without trying too hard. Sanatan Dharma teaches that when a person has realized his true identity he finds peace and is tolerant about everything.
In the next episode, we will learn more about Sanatan Dharma and what this ancient dharmic religion has to say.
