The Delhi Police has sealed the office premises of United News of India, citing compliance with directions issued by the Delhi High Court.
The action was carried out after the High Court passed an order in connection with a dispute involving the news agency’s property. Acting on the Court’s instructions, police officials moved to secure the premises and restrict access until further legal clarity is achieved.
The development is linked to ongoing litigation concerning the ownership or control of the property occupied by the agency. Authorities stated that the sealing was a procedural step taken strictly in accordance with the judicial directive, and not an independent enforcement action.
The move has drawn attention given UNI’s long-standing presence in the media landscape. However, officials emphasised that the measure is temporary and subject to further orders from the Court as the matter progresses.
The case is expected to be taken up again, where the High Court will consider the competing claims and determine the next course of action.
