New Delhi: An Armyman and his wife were rescued by a deputy commissioner of police after their car overturned in Subroto Park, Delhi Cantonment.
A police source revealed that a PCR call about a road accident was received at 2.30am on Tuesday from near Subroto Park. The caller was DCP Shashank Jaiswal, who reported an overturned car and requested immediate assistance. Jaiswal also alerted a traffic police inspector.
Jaiswal, who was in his official vehicle with other cops, quickly pulled the couple out of the car with the help of bystanders. The couple thanked Jaiswal and mentioned their children were waiting at home. They stay in the nearby Cantt area. The man is a subedar in the Army, while his wife works in the Air Force. They stated the accident occurred while trying to avoid a truck. The doors couldn’t be opened from inside, trapping them in the vehicle.
