Ahmedabad: An octogenarian woman from the city’s Khanpur area on Tuesday filed a police complaint against a couple, accusing them of intimidation and threats to usurp her house.
The 86-year-old former professor told Shahpur police that her former domestic helper and her husband, who live in a chawl in the area, repeatedly threaten and verbally abuse her and trespass on the property.
According to the FIR, the elderly citizen had fired the domestic helper and employed someone else in her place.
“The couple trespass on my property, verbally abuse me and threaten to usurp my house saying they are not afraid of the police. I am terrified of the couple, and fear they would take illegal possession of my house any time,” she stated in the FIR.
Shahpur police have booked the accused under Sections 333 (house trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 296(b) (obscene acts), 351(3) (criminal intimidation) and 54 (abetment) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
